Hey there wonderful!

First of all, welcome! I’m not sure what brought you to my page but I’m thankful for it and hope you’ll find it enjoyable, or at least entertaining! I’ve never been good at the whole “about me” biography thing, but here goes…

WhoAmI

My name is Ashley, I’m 25 years young and an aspiring writer. I grew up in southern Minnesota, I graduated with a major in Marketing and a minor in English Writing from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where I also played soccer and basketball for a bit (might as well say Fargo, ND, for reference). I didn’t think it got much colder than Minnesota… I was wrong. I’m currently living in Utah. I maintain a small zoo (or so it seems) with two dogs, Minnie and Ruka and a cat, Sydney; all of which are rescues. I honestly don’t know how people can have any more pets and keep a house decently clean! I enjoy the outdoors, animals, running, hiking, reading, archery, candlelight dinners, long walks on the beach, and suffer from extreme wanderlust. Every day brings new challenges and adventures and I’m lucky enough to share some of them with you through the gift of technology.

So that’s me. But what I find more important is why did I decide to start a blog? Social Media sites are meant to share ideas, knowledge, pictures, quotes… basically our lives encompassed as we wish to portray them, right? So that’s basically what this is, with the opportunity to work on and further my writing skills.

I’ve been passionate about writing for as long as I can remember. It got me into honor societies as a youngster and helps me in my career as well as express emotions and relieve stress today. Writing isn’t only a skill for me, it’s a coping mechanism, a hobby, a communicator and a lifestyle. Lately I’ve been going through somewhat of a “quarter-life crisis” so to speak (refer to my first posting: https://thebiggrabowski.wordpress.com/2014/03/24/they-say-lost-like-its-a-bad-thing/ ) I am redirecting my career to focus on more of my passions and less of a paycheck, and therefore focusing on writing. I always shied away from it believing my writing wasn’t good enough to make a living off of. And perhaps it’s not, no self-prophecy is going to make it so, that’s for sure. But it’s worth a shot.

So in a nutshell, here’s a blog with content dedicated to: inspiring, dreaming, living, learning, loving and laughing (if I’m lucky)… which I’m hoping will eventually create a life of it’s own, into less generalized “topics.”
